Cancer Screening Programme Organised by Assam University at Borjalenga
বড়জালেঙ্গায় ক্যান্সার শনাক্তকরণ কর্মসূচি আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৮ মার্চ : ‘সুস্থ সমাজ গঠনে আগাম শনাক্তকরণ ও প্রতিরোধমূলক যত্নের প্রসার’ শীর্ষক বিষয়কে সামনে রেখে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজকর্ম বিভাগ শিলচর ক্যান্সার সেন্টার ও শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের সহযোগিতায় এক ক্যান্সার স্ক্রিনিং কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে। গতকাল বড়জালেঙ্গা এলাকার পাইওনিয়ার সংধে এই কর্মসূচি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এই উদ্যোগের মূল লক্ষ্য ছিল ক্যান্সার সম্পর্কে সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা এবং আগাম শনাক্তকরণের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরা।

কর্মসূচিতে শিলচর ক্যান্সার সেন্টারের ডা. মনোজিৎ বণিক, পেশেন্ট ন্যাভিগেটর মৃন্ময় নাথ চৌধুরী সহ নার্সিং কর্মীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এদিন ক্যান্সার শনাক্তকরণ নিয়ে সচেতনতামূলক আলোচনা সভাও অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এরপর অংশগ্রহণকারীদের প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা, যেমন রক্তচাপ ও রক্তে শর্করার মাত্রা নির্ণয় করা হয়। পাশাপাশি চিকিৎসকদের মাধ্যমে ক্যান্সার স্ক্রিনিংও করা হয়।

কর্মসূচিতে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় ওষুধ বিতরণ করা হয় এবং যাদের মধ্যে সম্ভাব্য উপসর্গ দেখা গেছে, তাদের পরবর্তী পরীক্ষা ও চিকিৎসার জন্য হাসপাতালে রেফার করা হয়েছে। এতে মোট ৪৩ জন অংশগ্রহণকারী স্ক্রিনিংয়ের আওতায় আসেন। সমাজকর্ম বিভাগের অধ্যাপিকা ড. অদিতি নাথের তত্ত্বাবধানে এই কর্মসূচি আয়োজিত হয়। প্রসঙ্গত, বিশ্ব সমাজ কর্ম দিবস উদযাপনের অঙ্গ হিসেবে এই কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়।

Way2barak, March 18 : With the objective of promoting early detection and preventive care for building a healthy society, the Department of Social Work at Assam University organised a cancer screening programme in collaboration with Silchar Cancer Centre and Silchar Medical College & Hospital. The programme was held yesterday at Pioneer Sangha in the Borjalenga area.

The primary aim of the initiative was to raise awareness among the general public about cancer and to highlight the importance of early detection. Doctors and healthcare professionals, including Dr. Manojit Banik from Silchar Cancer Centre, patient navigator Mrinmoy Nath Choudhury, and nursing staff, were present at the event.

An awareness session on cancer detection was conducted, followed by basic health check-ups for participants, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests. Cancer screening was also carried out by medical professionals.
Necessary medicines were distributed among the participants, and those showing possible symptoms were referred to the hospital for further examination and treatment. A total of 43 individuals underwent screening during the programme.

The event was organised under the supervision of Dr. Aditi Nath, Assistant Professor of the Department of Social Work. Notably, the programme was held as part of the observance of World Social Work Day.
