way2barak April 28: In a major crackdown on cross-border arms smuggling in Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday apprehended two smugglers and recovered two pistols from them. The BSF recovered a drone in a separate operation, officials said.

Acting on an intelligence tip-off, BSF troops put up multiple ambushes in suspected areas of Amritsar district on Sunday at around 2:30 pm. During the operation, the personnel caught one smuggler and recovered a pistol from him.

In a similar operation nearly two hours later, BSF troops nabbed another arms smuggler from Kakkar village in Amritsar, recovering a pistol with a magazine wrapped in yellow adhesive tape from him. Both the smugglers have been handed to the local police for further investigation.
