18000 YABA tablets recovered, 2 apprehended in Banskandi

way2barak, Sept 20: Based on a reliable input, Cachar Police intercepted one truck bearing registration No AS01LC/4859 at Banskandi under the jurisdiction of Lakhipur Police Station and apprehended two persons. They are 1) Suraj Chetri, 25yrs, S/O -Dilip Chetri, Vill-Gorchulh, Damrachuk, P.S-Garchuk, Kamrup(M), Assam and 2) Mangaljit Rajkumar, S/O – Lt Ronojith Rajkumar, Vill-Hatikhira T.E. PS: Patharkandi, Karimganj, Assam. They were coming from the neighbouring state Manipur . During thorough search, police team recovered 18000 YABA tablets and 2 kilograms of Crystalline Methamphetamine concealed in secret chambers which were duly seized as per provisions. The price of the both narcotics substances in the black market is about 15.5 crores.The contraband items have been illegally suspected to be transported from Imphal, Manipur.
