MHA provides mine protected Quick Reaction Fighting vehicles to Manipur

way2barak, March 4 : In view ethnic violence, to deal with the prevailing law and order situation the Union Home Ministry are giving ten mine protected Quick Reaction Fighting (QRF) vehicles to the state, officials said on Monday.

An official said that of the ten QRF vehicles, seven have already arrived in the state and three more are on the way.

The Ministry of Home Affairs provided the QRF vehicles to equip the security forces in enforcing law and order in a very effective manner in the state.

These mine protected QRF vehicles would greatly help in protecting the security forces while performing their duties at vulnerable spots, the official said, adding that the state government continues to take up initiatives for strengthening security measures and the protection of lives and properties.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, who also holds the Home portfolio, on Monday inspected the QRF vehicles in Imphal.

Later he said on the X : “Inspected the 4 latest Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicles (QRFV) which have arrived in the state. Three more are on the way and will be arriving soon.”

“As many as 10 of these armored personnel carriers will be added to the state’s arsenal for assisting the security forces in enforcing law and order at various locations,” the Chief Minister said.
