আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সি ২০ চৌপাল অনুষ্ঠিত

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৩ মে : সেন্টার ফর দ্য স্টাডিজ ইন আসাম ইউনিভার্সিটি (সিএসএইচডি) উদ্যোগে এবং সেবা ইন্টারন্যাশনালের সহযোগিতায় আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিপিন পাল মিলনায়তনে ২৩ মে মঙ্গলবার সি২০ চৌপাল আয়োজিত হয়। সি২০-এর আন্তর্জাতিক সমন্বয়কারী হিসেবে সেবা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল সেবার অনুভূতি, পরোপকারিতা এবং স্বেচ্ছাসেবকতা এই তিনটি বিষয়ের উপর এই অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজিত হয়। জি২০ দেশগুলির এই এনগেজমেন্ট গ্রুপটি সমাজে সৃষ্টি হওয়া নানা চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং সুযোগগুলির উপর ফোকাস করবে।

আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সি২০ চৌপালের থিম ছিল জাতীয় শিক্ষা নীতিতে প্রাচীন ভারতীয় জ্ঞানের প্রয়োগ। এই চৌপালের লক্ষ্য ছিল ওয়ার্কিং গ্রুপের উদ্দেশ্য পূরণ করা এবং জি২০ এর অংশ হিসেবে সি২০ সচিবালয়ে একটি বিস্তৃত এবং ব্যাপক নীতি তৈরি করে উপস্থাপন করা। উল্লেখ্য, চৌপাল, ভারতে সভা সংগঠিত করার একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী উপায়। চৌপালগুলি প্রাসঙ্গিক বিষয়গুলি নিয়ে আলোচনা করার জন্য মানুষের জন্য একটি গণতান্ত্রিক পরিবেশ প্রদান করে। আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সি২০ প্রোগ্রামটি তিনটি সেশনে সংগঠিত হয়েছিল। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান, প্যানেল আলোচনা এবং ফোকাস গ্রুপ আলোচনা।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিলচরের সাংসদ ডঃ রাজদীপ রায়। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সেবা ইন্টারন্যাশনালের স্বাথি রাম এবং সংস্কৃত ভারতীর সভাপতি শঙ্কর ভট্টাচার্য। অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ, রেজিস্ট্রার ডঃ প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ এবং সিএসএইচডি-এর ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক নিরঞ্জন রায়। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে সেবা ইন্টারন্যাশনালের পরিচালক ডঃ স্বাথি রাম স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন এবং আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত সি২০ চৌপালের থিম উপস্থাপন করেন।

প্রধান অতিথি ডাঃ রাজদীপ রায় জি২০-এর গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। তিনি বৈশ্বিক মানচিত্রে ভারতের বর্তমান শক্তিশালী অবস্থান নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। ডঃ শঙ্কর ভট্টাচার্য জাতীয় শিক্ষা নীতিতে ভারতের প্রাচীন জ্ঞানের প্রয়োজনীয়তার উপর বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। তিনি ভারতের সেবা, পরোপকারী এবং স্বেচ্ছাসেবীতার সমৃদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য তুলে ধরেন যা আগামীতে ভারতকে একটি শক্তিশালী করতে সহায়তা করবে। ডঃ প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ সি২০ নিয়ে প্রাসঙ্গিক বক্তব্য রাখেন।

সভাপতির ভাষণে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ জি২০-এর গুরুত্ব এবং বর্তমান সময়ে বিশ্বে ভারতের ভূমিকার কথা তুলে ধরেন। আসাম ইউনিভার্সিটির সেন্টার ফর স্টাডিজ ইন হিউম্যান ডেভেলপমেন্টের ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক নিরঞ্জন রায় সমাপনী বক্তব্য এবং ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন। তিনি অতীতের গৌরব পুনরুদ্ধারের দিকে ভারতের উত্তরণ এবং এই প্রক্রিয়ায় নাগরিক সমাজের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা করেন ড. জয়শ্রী দে। চৌপালের অংশ হিসেবে সেবা, জনহিতৈষী এবং স্বেচ্ছাসেবকতার উপর একটি প্যানেল আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। প্যানেল আলোচনায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অর্থনীতি ও বাণিজ্যের প্রাক্তন ডিন অধ্যাপক নিখিল ভূষণ দে। প্যানেলিস্ট হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজকর্ম বিভাগের অধ্যাপক এম.গঙ্গাভূষণ, রোজকান্দি চা বাগানের ম্যানেজার আই.বি.উবাদিয়া এবং শিল্পপতি অভিষেক জৈন।

প্যানেল আলোচনায় সি২০ এর নানা বিষয় তুলে ধরা হয়। সি২০ চৌপালের শেষ পর্যায়ে বরাক উপত্যকার ৭০টি সংগঠন নিয়ে ফোকাস গ্রুপ আলোচনা হয়। অধিবেশনে সভাপতিত্ব করেন অধ্যাপক নিরঞ্জন রায়। মূল আটটি গ্রুপে বিভক্ত হয়ে আলোচনা হয়। সমস্ত দল তাদের প্রতিবেদন উপস্থাপন করে যাতে ছিল চ্যালেঞ্জ ও সমাধান । অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা করেন ড. দেবতোষ চক্রবর্তী। অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সেবা ইন্টারন্যাশনালের প্রোগ্রাম ম্যানেজার ড. সঞ্জীব শীল, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রোক্টর ড. হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস, ড. পারমিতা দাস, ড. গঙ্গেশ ভট্টাচার্য, ড. কল্যাণ দে সহ অন্যান্যরা।

Way2barak, May 23 : The Centre for the Studies in Assam University (CSHD) in collaboration with Sewa International organized C20 Chaupal at Assam University on 23^rd May 2023 in the Bipin Pal Milanayan Assam University. Sewa International is the International Coordinator for C20, as part of the Working Group: Sewa: Sense of Service, Philanthropy and Volunteerism. This engagement group of G20 countries for civil society and its stakeholders will focus on challenges and opportunities for the social sector.

The theme for the C20 Chaupal at Assam University was Ancient Indian Wisdom in NEP. The aim of this chaupal was to meet the objectives of the working group and present an elaborate and comprehensive Policy Pack to the C20 Secretariat as part of G20. Chaupal, is a traditional way of organising meetings in India. Chaupals provide a democratic environment for people to discuss relevant topics.

The C20 programme in Assam University was organized in three different sessions: Inaugural programme, Panel discussion and Focus group discussions. In the inaugural programme Dr. Swathi Ram, Director, Sewa International delivered welcome address and introduced the theme of the C20 Chaupal held at Assam University.

Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MP Silchar attended as Chief Guest. He has highlighted the importance of G20 where India will preside this year. C20 is a civil society interaction as part of G20. He has discussed the India’s present situation in the global map. Dr. Sankar Bhattacharjee, Chairman, Sanskrit Bharati, Porvottar Bharat Trust, delivered the key note address on the theme Ancient Indian wisdom and its role in NEP 2020. He has highlighted India’s rich tradition of Sewa, Philantrophy and Volunteerism which helped to build a strong society. Dr. P.K.Nath, Registrar of the University attended as Guest of Honour and addressed the inaugural programme.

Prof. R.M.Pant, Vice Chancellor of the University delivered presidential address. He has highlighted about the importance of G20 and india’s role in global scene in the present time. Prof. Niranjan Roy, Director, Centre for Studies in Human Development of Assam University delivewred concluding remarks and Vote of Thanks. He has highlighlihted India’s tranisition towards regaining past glory and the importance of Civil society in this process.

A panel discussion of Sewa, Philantrophy and Volunteerism was held as part of the Chaupal. The panel discussion was presided by Prof. Nikil Bhusan De, former Dean of Economics and Commerce, Assam University and President, Vidya Bhrati, Dakshin Assam Prant. The panelists were Prof. M.Gangabhusan from the department of Social Work, Assam University, Sri I.B.Ubadhia, tea planter and Sri Avishek Jain, Industrialist also attended as panelist. The discussion centered around Sewa, Philantrophy and Volunteerism and the its role in nation building.

A Focus group discussion was held among 80 organisations grouped in to 6 sub groups on the theme community led development. The session was chaired by Prof. Niranjan Roy. All the groups presented their report which contains Challenges, way out and recoomendations. Dr. Sanjib Shil, Programme Manager, Sewa International, Dr. Himadri Sekhar Das, Proctor, Assam University, Dr Paramita Das, Dr. Gangesh Bhattacharjee, Dr. Debatosh Chakraborty, Dr. Jayashri Dey, Dr. Kalyan Dey were actively present in the daylong programme.
