3 new Anganwadi centers inaugurated in Cachar

way2barak, Dec.12: Anganwadi centers play an important role in the physical and mental development of children in rural areas. Every Anganwadi center in the village was setup for the development of the  education of the children along with  character formation. This was said by the minister for excise, fisheries & Transport Parimal Suklabaidya here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion after inaugurating the newly constructed building of the Panibhora Anganwadi Center, Minister Suklabaidya highlighted the various developmental projects of the  Central and the State Government. The minister said, “During the period of earlier government, the funds for the development of the anganwadi centers were looted.” He added that the Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is very much keen to promote rural education. 66 Model Anganwadi Centers have been approved across Cachar, out of which 11 AWC centers were approved in the Dholai constituency, added the minister. He said that the government has sanctioned a grant of Rs.25 lakh for the construction of new buildings of each Anganwadi center.

Minister Suklabaidya said that the state Cabinet has approved another 2,000 Anganwadi Centers for which an expenditure of Rs. 500 crores was earmarked. He also mentioned that in the recently held Cabinet meet, Assam Government has given approval to set up two model degree colleges in Cachar district, out of which, one degree college has been approved to be set up in Dholai constituency.
Later on during the day, the Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Bhubankhal Anganwadi Center No. 40 and the building of Bhubanhil Anganwadi Center No. 51.  The minister also participated in the public presentation ceremony and award distribution ceremony of Budhan Chauhan M. E. School’s community festival.
