Public is requested to stay on alert with water levels rising: Dist Admin Cachar

July 4: With fresh rainfall since Monday early morning, the water level of river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, SIlchar is increasing. At 12 Noon on Monday, the water level of Barak was 20.07 mt and was reported to be steady. As per forecast, the water level is supposed to increase and reach 20.27 mt by 6 PM on Monday.

Meanwhile, rain water has once again inundated many parts of Silchar town. The District Administration Cachar has also issued a warning to the people of the district. Taking to its social media page, the district administration stated, “Public is requested to stay on alert with water levels rising.”

After the recent devastating flood, the people of Silchar are already tensed. Moreover, many areas of the town were till now submerged. With fresh rainfall, the water level at those areas has also increased.
