Cabinet in Silchar; DC Cachar invites artwork from local artists for beautification of the venue

May 7: Since the taking over of the reigns of administration by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government, a trend has been set to hold cabinet meetings outside Dispur. Till now, 3 such cabinet meetings were held outside Dispur. During the last cabinet meeting held in Guwahati on 3 May, 2022, it was decided that the next cabinet meeting outside the state capital will be held in Silchar on 31 May, 2022.

In lieu of the oncoming cabinet, preparations are galore! In a social media post, District Administration Cachar has taken keen interest in beautification of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, the venue of the Cabinet Meeting.

In this connection, District Administration Cachar stated, “Interested artists of Barak Valley who want to be a part of it are invited to mail us their artwork at dc-cachar@nic.in along with their contact details. If your artwork is selected, you will be given an opportunity to be a part of this historic occasion. The artwork/ handicrafts may reflect local culture, architecture and aspiration.”
