Matri-Pitri Pujan Divas organised to mark the celebration of ‘Poila Boishakh’ by GHHF in Silchar

April 15: ‘Global Hindu Heritage Foundation’ (GHHF) organised Matri-Pitri Pujan Divas in Silchar today, in order to mark the celebration of ‘Poila Boishakh’. The organisation claimed that more than 200 people from Karimganj, Sonai, Udharbond, Silchar and other parts of Barak Valley participated in this programme.

Srimat Swami Bigayanandaji Maharaj of Shankar Math Mission was the special guest for the evening. The programme’s main objective was to inculcate the feeling of ‘respect’ and deepen the Indian ethics and teachings of ‘undying devotion’ for parents among the children. The children washed their parents feet with water and offered flower petals in their feet. They also took a vow to keep respecting their parent’s decisions and concerns for the rest of their life.

Speaking on the importance of the programme, Advocate Samrat Dutta said that the children of today are being taught to demean or underestimate their parents efforts and struggle. They are taught to look down upon the efforts of their parents and choose themselves over their parents by several social media influencers and pages, which tend to break the Indian family system. The need to reinforce the old teachings is very much required now, as our children are forgetting all the Indian values and ethics due to the influence of various western paid influencers.
