CM takes stock of preparation for visit of President of India to Assam
Feb. 22: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Assam with a three-day tour starting from 25 February. During his visit to the state, President Kovind will inaugurate the year-long celebration to mark the 400th birth anniversary of legendary Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. He will also review the conservation efforts at Kaziranga National Park among other engagements.
It is in this connection that state Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took stock of preparations at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra & instructed officials to aptly highlight Bir Lachit’s life and times. Taking to his twitter handle, CM Dr Sarma wrote, “Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji will open the year-long celebration of 400th birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Borphukan. Took stock of preparations at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra.”
