1 more Covid +ve patient die at SMCH on Thursday

Feb. 17: There has been a steady decline in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 16 February to 5 PM on 17 February) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as:

• Sarna Bala Das (80) from Uttar Krishnapur Part II in Cachar district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 9 February. The patient, however, breathed her last at 7.30 AM on 17 February, 2022. The patient was suffering from ARDS & pneumonia.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 17 February, there were no Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH.
