CM Assam confers state’s highest award ‘Assam Baibhav’ to Ratan Tata in Mumbai
Feb. 16: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, today conferred Assam Baibhav, the State’s highest civilian award to eminent industrialist and Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan Naval Tata at a function held in Mumbai. As an industrialist & philanthropist, Ratan Tata has made exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam.
It may be noted that due to personal reasons, Ratan Tata couldn’t attend the official award ceremony held in Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, Guwahati on 24 January, 2022 where Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi conferred the State’s three highest civilian awards to 18 other distinguished personalities in different fields.
Taking to his twitter handle, Chief Minister Dr Sarma wrote, “Had the privilege to honour @tatatrusts Chairman Shri Ratan Naval Tata with ‘Assam Baibhav’, our State’s highest civilian award,at Mumbai today. The visionary industrialist & philanthropist has made exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam.”
