43 years old Covid +ve patient from Tarapur die at SMCH on Tuesday

Feb. 8: There has been a gradual decline in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 7 February to 5 PM on 8 February) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as:

• Kishore Chakraborty (43) from Tarapur, Silchar tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 5 February, 2022. The patient, however, breathed his last at 6 AM on 8 February, 2022. The patient was suffering from septicemia and Acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 8 February, there was only 01 Covid-19 active patient at Silchar Medical College. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH but 2 were discharged. No patient was detected positive in RAT at SMCH but 02 found positive in RTPCR on Tuesday.
