Nov. 20: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma participated in the inaugural ceremony of ‘North East Education Conclave’ organized by the Department of Education and Sankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF), Guwahati in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday. This conclave was organized to discuss various issues related to the implementation of National Education Policy, 2020.

During the programme, the Chief Minister mentioned in his speech that India will become more strong once the National Education Policy, 2020 is implemented n its truest stride. This, he said will give students the opportunity for self-development. It will create creative and innovative thinking among the students thereby furthering the development of the society and the nation. Dr Sarma further stated that the implementation of this policy will fulfill the dream of a new and strong India as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to his twitter handle, CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Knowledge and wisdom are the guiding principles of our civilisation. The New Education Policy will motivate students to strive for excellence. These education reforms will herald a new dawn for a new India.” He said, “NEP 2020 will once again herald our glorious past.

In this programme, State Minister of Education, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, UG Brahma, Sanjay Kishan, Vice Chancellor Professor of CCS University of Uttar Pradesh- Prof Narendra Kumat Taneja, ,Chairman of UGC, Prof DP Singh, Education Ministers of all other North-Eastern states, Advisor to Education Department Assam- Professor Nanigopal Mahanta along with other dignitaries were present.
