With 6 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 13 on 21 August

Active cases 130 in Cachar; 12 discharged on Saturday

Aug 21: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 06 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 13 persons were found positive in the district on 21 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 07 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 130. This was informed by District Media Expert on Saturday night. Also, 12 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Friday, 27 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 6,097 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 07 persons were found positive, whereas 06 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,571 whereas during this phase, 19,249 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 130 active patients:

30 of them are admitted at SMCH
13 at MH
12 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
05 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
11 at CRPF Doyapur
02 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
02 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
12 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
02 Palonghat Model Hospital
41 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 20 August to 5 PM on 21 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 21 August, there were 32 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 29 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 03 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 04 patients were put under ventilator support and 21 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH but none of them were discharged.
