With 8 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 54 on 22 July

Active cases 293 in Cachar; 39 discharged on Thursday

July 22: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at late night. As per the latest data, 8 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 54 persons were found positive in the district on 22 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 44 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 293. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 39 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 32 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,805 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 44 persons were found positive, whereas 10 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,707 whereas during this phase, 18,234 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 293 active patients:

73 of them are admitted at SMCH
13 at MH
38 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
11 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
06 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
05 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
04 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
03 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
23 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
14 Palonghat Model Hospital
103 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 21 July to 5 PM on 22 July) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 22 July, there were 68 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 39 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 29 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support and 46 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 16 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
