After Cachar, restrictions imposed in Karimganj during Mahalaya & Biswakarma Puja

Sept. 15: After Cachar district, restrictions now was also imposed in Karimganj district during Mahalaya and Biswakarma Puja. In a notification issued by Anbamuthan MP, District Magistrate Karimganj on 15 September, it was stated that in order to contain the further spread of novel coronavirus, certain precautionary measures need to be imposed during Mahalaya and Biswakarma Puja on 17 September, 2020.

  • Restriction is hereby imposed on the movement of more than a group of 3 (three) persons together on the roads on Mahalaya.
  • Accumulation of crowd at any place will not be allowed. However, people are free to move on the roads within small groups comprising of maximum 3 (three) persons.
  • Wearing of face mask and maintaining physical distance will be mandatory on both the occasions.
  • Biswakarma Puja shall also be celebrated with maximum 15 (fifteen) number of persons.
  • Distribution of wet food/ Prasad is not allowed by any puja Samiti. However, packed prasad (dry food only) are allowed.
  • No pandals, lighting and Rood side stalls to be permitted. However, Til- Tarpan vidhi is allowed on banks of river keeping all COVID-19 protocol.
