8,072 found Covid +ve in Assam, 2,444 discharged & 16 deaths registered on Tuesday

Jan. 18: On Tuesday, out of 63,944 tests, 8,072 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,61,789. The positivity rate in the state is 12.62 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,996 positive cases during the day. Further, on Tuesday, 16 died in the state due to COVID-19. The death toll in the state stands at 6,233. The recovery rate is 94.39 percent. Also, 2,444 persons were discharged during the day. There are at present 29,560 active Covid patients in the state.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 6,982 persons tested positive in Assam and 11 deaths were registered.
