80 candidates file nomination for 7 seats in Cachar

March 12: A total of 80 candidates submitted their nomination forms for contesting the elections in the seven Assembly constituencies of Cachar. March 12 was the last date for submitting the nominations. For the 2nd phase of polls, scrutiny of nomination will be done on 15 March & the last date of withdrawal of nomination 17 March. All the 15 assembly constituencies in the three districts of Barak Valley will go for the polls in the 2nd phase on 1 April, 2021. The voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm.

09-Silchar Assembly Constituency: A total of 19 candidates submitted their nomination forms for contesting the elections in 09-Silchar Assembly constituency. They are: Dulali Chakraborty: SUCI(C), Shuvadip Dutta: Independent, Tamal Kanti Banik: INC, Dipayan Chakraborty: BJP, Jawaharlal Goala: Independent, Bishway Chamak Goswami: Bharatiya Gana Parishad, Anup Dutta: Independent, Biju Chanda: Independent, Anupam Deb: Independent, Dilip Kumar Paul: Independent, Bappi Paul: Independent, Baktar Uddin Mazumder: Independent, Raju Sinha: Hindustan Nirman Dal, Rushna Begum Laskar: Independent, Ratan Roy: Independent, Shankar Chakraborty: Independent, Md. Nazrul Islam Laskar: Independent, Prashanta Laskar: Independent and Nalinaksha Bhattacharjee: Independent.

10-Sonai Assembly Constituency: A total of 14 candidates submitted their nomination forms for contesting the elections in 10-Sonai Assembly constituency. They are: Anjan Kumar Chanda: SUCI, Sukumar Sonar: Independent, Ashish Haldar: Independent, Aminul Haque Laskar: BJP, M Shanti Kumar Singha: AITC, Anjan Kumar Chandra: SUCI(C), Karim Uddin Barbhuiya: AIUDF, Anamul Haque Laskar: Independent, Bijan Paul: Independent, Karim Uddin Barbhuiya: Independent, Dilip Kumar Das: Independent, Sayal Ahmed Barbhuiya: Independent, Anwar Hussain Laskar: SP and Nazrul Islam Laskar:Independent.

15-Katigorah Assembly Constituency:  A total of 16 candidates submitted their nomination forms for contesting the elections in 15-Katigorah Assembly constituency.
