8 tests COVID-19 +ve in Cachar on Friday, district tally rises to 32
April 9: On Friday, 08 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,421 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 03 persons were found positive, whereas 05 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,545. Further, a total of 11,475 patients were discharged in the district as of now. At present, there are 32 active cases in Cachar district, out of which, 07 of them are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), whereas, 25 others are in home isolation.
Moreover, 01 person, Dipankar Das (56) from Link Road, who was admitted at SMCH died on Friday morning. He took admission at SMCH after being infected with Covid-19. His last rites will be performed as per Covid-19 protocol.
Further, the district health authorities appealed to the public to maintain COVID appropriate behaviour like use of face masks in public places, maintain social distancing, hand hygiene and coughing etiquette like covering of mouth and nose while coughing. Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed stated that by following these steps we can help prevent the break out of the second wave of COVID-19.
