8 more Covid +ve patients die at Silchar Medical College in last 24 hours
94 patients in ICU, 31 in ventilator support & 158 put under oxygen at SMCH
May 27: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 08 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 08 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 01 from Karimganj & 01 from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as:
- Pratima Barman (38) from Dholai in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 24 May. She, however, died at 6.24 PM on 26 May.
- Lutfur Nahar (47) from Narayanpur in Hailakandi got admitted at SMCH on 25 May. She passed away at 8.15 PM on 26 May.
- Shimul Dey (55) from Karimganj took admission at SMCH on 27 May. The patient died at 2 AM on 27 May.
- Gyan Ranjan Choudhury (79) from 2nd Link Road, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 23 May. He breathed his last at 3.10 AM on 27 May.
- Kalabati Roy (57) from Dholai in Cachar district got admitted at SMCH on 26 May. She, expired at 5.20 AM on 27 May.
- Hem Bahadur Chetri (75) from Alambag in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 22 May. He died at 5.50 PM on 27 May.
- Kalyani Dey (75) from Tarapur, Silchar took admission at SMCH on 24 May. She passed away at 1.10 PM on 27 May.
- Robijul Ali Mazarbhuiya (70) from Bhagabazar in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 26 May. He, however, died at 1.30 PM on 27 May.
