Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat decreasing, flowing at 19.87 mt at 5 AM on Monday

May 23: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to rise. However,  on Monday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually decreasing. From 1 AM on Monday, the water level of Barak came down below 20.00 metres.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 5 AM on Monday, was flowing still above the danger level and was recorded at 19.87 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is decreasing at 3 cm per hour at this hour. The water level is expected to down below the danger level at around 7 in the morning.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
