8 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 31 December
Active cases 44 in Cachar, 3 discharged
Dec. 31: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 9.45 PM. As per the latest data, 08 persons were found positive in the district on 31 December. Also, 03 patients were discharged (03 hospital & none from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 44 (28 in home isolation & 16 in hospitals).
As per the updated data, a total of 1,384 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no persons were found positive, whereas 08 were detected positive out of 234 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,588 whereas during this phase, 20,325 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 30 December to 5 PM on 31 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 31 December, there were 09 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, no Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH but 01 of them were discharged.
