74 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Tuesday, 60 discharged & 1 death registered
The district has currently 1,064 active COVID-19 cases
June 15: Karimganj registered 74 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. The district has currently 1,064 active COVID-19 cases, while 60 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Tuesday. 3,632 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 102 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Monday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 14 June to 5 PM on 15 June) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the three deceased on Tuesday, 01 of them is from Karimganj district and the other is from Hailakandi. The deceased from Karimganj was identified as:
- Nitai Chandra Dey (56) from Shyama Prasad Road in Karimganj was admitted at SMCH on 11 June. He, however, passed away at 7.30 PM on 14 June.
