7 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 18 December

Active cases 53 in Cachar, 3 discharged

Dec. 18: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 11.50 PM. As per the latest data, 07 persons were found positive in the district on 18 December. Also, 03 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 53. It needs mention here that on Friday, 04 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,435 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 04 persons were found positive, whereas 03 were detected positive out of 53 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,521 whereas during this phase, 20,251 patients were discharged.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 17 December to 5 PM on 18 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 18 December, there were 09 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and also none in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH but none of them was discharged.
