6,143 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Wednesday, 4,057 discharged & 89 deaths registered
Active cases 48,390 in Assam
May 19: On Wednesday, out of 1,02,040 tests, 6,143 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 3,47,001. The positivity rate in the state is 6.02 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 913 positive cases during the day. Further, on Wednesday, 73 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 2,433.
It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 5,835 persons tested positive in Assam and 73 deaths were registered.
On Wednesday, 4,057 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,94,831 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 84.97 percent. At present, there are 48,390 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 89 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 89 deceased, 26 are from Kamrup Metro; 08 each from Kamrup Rural & Dibrugarh; 06 from Karbi Anglong; 05 from Cachar; 03 each from Jorhat, Morigaon, Sonitpur, Tinsukia; 02 each from Barpeta, Charaideo, Goalpara, Hojai, Kokhrajhar, Nagaon, Sivasagar & Udalguri; 01 each from Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Hailakandi, Nalbari and South Salamara. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,433.
