6 more Covid +ve patients dies at SMCH in last 24 hours
95 patients in ICU, 23 in ventilator support & 165 put under oxygen at SMCH
May 22: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 06 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. All the 06 deceased are from Cachar district. The deceased were identified as:
- Madhabi Rani Das (63) from Shibpur in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 16 May. She died at 7.30 PM on 21 May.
- Faizur Rahman Barbhuiya (76) from Ambicapur in Cachar got admitted at SMCH on 17 May. He, however, breathed his last at 9.45 PM on 21 May.
- Ajay Bahadur Thapa (58) from Mashimpur (Arunachal) in Cachar district took admission at SMCH on 18 May. He passed away at 6.15 AM on 22 May.
- Ranjit Paul (72) also from Mashimpur (Arunachal) in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 17 May. He expired at 7.50 AM on 22 May.
- Gayatri Das (69) from Public School Road, Silchar got admitted at SMCH on 18 May. The patient succumbed to the infection at 11.20 AM on 22 May.
- Maya Chakraborty (67) from Chenkuri Road, Silchar was admitted at SMCh on 19 May. She breathed her last at 12.10 PM on 22 May.
