57 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Friday, 176 discharged, 1 death registered
The district has altogether 814 active COVID-19 cases
June 12: Hailakandi registered 57 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Of the 57 positive cases detected on Saturday, 56 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 01 found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 814 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 2,022 RAT tests and 215 RT-PCR tests were done. 176 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 7,098. As of now, a total of 2,875 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 50 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Friday.
As of now, in the 59,582 persons have received the 1st dose of the vaccine (irrespective of age), whereas, 17,285 have been administered the 2nd dose in Hailakandi district.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 11 June to 5 PM on 12 June) witnessed demise of 04 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 4 deceased, 03 are from Cachar, whereas 01 belongs to Hailakandi.
The deceased from Hailakandi was identified as Pushpa Rani Biswas (84) from Nutan Para (in Hailakandi) who was admitted at SMCH on 7 June. She, however, passed away at 9 PM on 11 June.
