562 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 776 discharged & 11 deaths registered

Aug 26: On Thursday, out of 81,826 tests, 562 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,86,940. The positivity rate in the state is 0.69 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 115 positive cases during the day. Further, on Thursday, 11 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,618. The recovery rate is 97.72 percent.

It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 689 persons tested positive in Assam and 07 deaths were registered.

On Thursday, 776 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,73,541 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 6,434 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 11 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 11 deceased, 02 each are from Jorhat, Golaghat & Kamrup Metro; 01 each from Barpeta, Cachar, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,618.
