During the tenure of my govt, not a word against our culture & civilisation will be tolerated: CM

Dec. 5: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma while interacting with the journalist on Sunday stated that during the tenure of his government, not a single word against the culture and civilisation of the country will be tolerated. He said, “MLA Sherman Ali is in jail and if similar statements which goes against our culture and civilisation are uttered, then the consequences will be same. If Aminul Islam does not refrain himself from making such statements, then he shall also have to go to the jail.”

The Chief Minister further said, “If Aminul Islam is willing to stay outside the prison, then he shall have to refrain from making such comments and speak on the economy of the state. He can verbally abuse me, that’s ok. But no derogatory statements are to be made against Kamakhya, Sankardeva, Lord Buddha, Mahavir Jain. Even I too don’t want that anybody drags Hazarat Mohammad in any controversial comment. They are not of our category and a politician here should not utter anything distasteful against them.”

“Even the father of Aurangzeb dared not to enter Assam, forget about Aurangzeb,” added the Chief Minister.
