4 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 17 December
Active cases 49 in Cachar, 9 discharged
Dec. 17: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 11.40 PM. As per the latest data, 04 persons were found positive in the district on 17 December. Also, 09 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 49. It needs mention here that on Friday, 06 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,561 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no person was found positive, whereas 04 were detected positive out of 295 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,514 whereas during this phase, 20,248 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 16 December to 5 PM on 17 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 17 December, there were 06 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and also none in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 04 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 01 of them was discharged.
