3,816 railway coaches available for Covid-19 care
April 25: With the onset of the 2nd wave of coronavirus, there has been shortage of hospitals in many parts of the country. To cope up to this situation, Indian Railways have come up with a helping hand. The Ministry of Railways stated that 3,816 coaches are available at present across the country for Covid-19 care. However, the Railways added that these coaches can be used to treat very mild cases. The coaches are being deployed as per the demands of the state governments. These Covid-19 Care Coaches were handed to the government and made operational from 25 April, 2021.
