318 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 343 discharged & 5 death registered
There are 2,767 active cases in Assam
Oct. 8: On Friday, out of 43,977 tests, 318 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,04,536. The positivity rate in the state is 0.72 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 137 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday, 05 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,916. The recovery rate is 98.34 percent.
It needs mention here that on Thursday, 295 persons tested positive in Assam and 08 death was registered.
On Friday, 388 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,94,506 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. At present, there are 2,767 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 05 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 05 deceased, 01 each are from from Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup Metro, Karbi Anglong and Nalbari. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,916.
