3 more bus passengers from Ajmer tests positive in Cachar, total rises to 56 in Assam
May 8: Three more persons, who travelled in the bus from Rajasthan in which the Cachar dist COVID-19 positive person travelled, have tested positive. Sharing this information at 3.44 PM on Friday, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma tweeted that the total number coronavirus positive patients in the state has increased to 56. Out of 56 positive patients in the state, 34 of them were discharged and at present there are 21 active cases. One of them had died earlier at SMCH, who was from Hailakandi district.
As regards Cachar district, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Cachar has gone up to 9, out of which 1 was already discharged. At present, there are 8 active patients in Cachar. All the positive cases are undergoing treatment at Silchar medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The Health Minister, however, appealed to the people not to panic and obey the safety advisories as notified by the government.
