3 detected Covid +ve till 5 PM in Cachar on Tuesday, 1 death at SMCH
Oct. 5: A total of 01 new case of COVID-19 was reported till 5 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,280 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 01 person was found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, RT-PCR test results were not made available. It needs mention here that 02 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 4 October to 5 PM on 5 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Sitangshu Sekhar Nath (90) from Premtola in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 30 September. The patient, however, breathed his last on 4 October.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 5 October, there were 18 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support, and 05 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and none of them was discharged.
