2nd dose Covaxin for 18-44 years dispatched to all districts who got 1st dose on 8 to 10 May
June 17: Amid shortage in supply of Covaxin in Assam, many were worried about the 2nd jab. However, on Friday, Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare) while replying to a social media user informed that those in the age group of 18 and 44 years in Assam can now take their second dose of Covaxin who took their 1st jab on 8 May to 10 May, 2021.
Covaxin for 2nd dose 18-44 years have been dispatched to all districts who got their 1st dose on 8th,9th & 10th May/21. Have directed all the districts to plan for inoculating the 2nd dose on 17th,18th,19th or 20th June/21. So please contact the district administration.

Munindra Nath Ngatey tweeted, “Covaxin for 2nd dose 18-44 years have been dispatched to all districts who got their 1st dose on 8th,9th & 10th May/21. Have directed all the districts to plan for inoculating the 2nd dose on 17th,18th,19th or 20th June/21. So please contact the district administration.”
It needs mention here that all citizens of age group 18-44 years,who have taken their Covaxin 1st dose on or before 7th May, 21 availed their 2nd dose in the same vaccination centres on 12 to 14 June or as decided by the districts. This order was applicable for those who had taken their 1st dose of Covaxin on or before 7 May, 2021. They were not required to do any online registration and rather given the jab at the vaccination centres after doing spot registration. As such, it is expected that, those who took the 1st dose on 8, 9 & 10 May would now not require online registration. They may contact their local district health department for further details.
