2669 tests +ve in Assam on Tuesday, state tally goes upto 64,406

August 11: On Tuesday, 2669 tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, 64,406 persons were infected in Assam as of now, out of which, 20,622 are active cases. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2669 COVID cases detected out of 52062 tests in last 24 hrs Positivity rate- 5.12% Kamrup (M)- 399, Dibrugarh- 259, Karbi Anglong- 189, Tinsukia- 181.”

Further, during the day, 4 more persons died in the state due to coronavirus, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 155.  Those who succumbed to the death during the day are  Sanchita Paul Choudhury (65), Swapana Choudhury (64) and Late Yahiya Ahmed Barbhuiya (40) of Cachar & Roma Rai (58) of Dibrugarh.
