2,384 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 12 deaths registered
Active cases 12,595 in Assam
April 23: On Friday, out of 72,405 tests, 2,384 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive. This is the highest single day total positive cases in the state in 2021. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,33,453. The positivity rate in the state is 3,29 percent. Kamrup (M) district registered 883 positive cases during the day. During the day, 12 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. This is the highest single-day deaths recorded in Assam in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Thursday, 1931 persons tested positive in Assam and 10 deaths were registered.
On Friday, 348 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,18,339 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 93.53%.

Further, during the day, 12 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 12 deceased, 05 are from Kamrup Metro, 2 from Kokhrajhar, 1 each from Dibrugarh, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural & Udalguri. The death tally of the state stands at 1,172.
