23 tests +ve in Cachar on Monday, tally reaches 11,107

Active cases 102 in Cachar

Dec. 14: On Monday, a total of 23 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1953 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 15 persons were found positive, whereas 08 persons was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,107. Further, a total of 10,968 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 102 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 12 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 291 persons were collected. 400 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 06 persons tested positive. Further, 567 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 04 were found positive.

Apart from this, 01 new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 05 were discharged. At present, there are 21 active patients at SMCH, out of which 01 is in critical stage. A total of 07 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 07 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 kept in ventilator support. Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none died due to COVID-19 at SMCH.
