20 artists from Silchar to participate in Aizawl Art Festival 2018

December 24: In order to promote art and culture in the region, a 5-day Art Festival will be organised in Aizawl, Mizoram. The ‘Aizawl Art Festival,2018’ will begin on 27 December and will continue till 31 December. The Festival organised by Art Novelty Gallery will witness artists from the entire NE Region. The Festival will be organised at Art Novelty Gallery, Chaltlang Venglai in Aizawl.

While speaking to way2barak, members of the Art Novelty Gallery has informed that it will infact be a festival of paintings, Sculptures, Photography, Theatre, Graphics, Posters, Poetry Reading, Ceramics & Crafts. In short, the festival will showcase Art & Crafts Exhibition cum Workshop.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural programme on 27 Dcember will be Dr.C. Vanlalramsanga IES. Secretary, Programme & Planning Implementation Department, Govt. of Mizoram. Laldawngliani Chawngthu
Director, SCERT, Govt. of Mizoram will be present as the Guest of Honour. The other dignitories who will grace the occasion are Gourmoni Mahisya Das, Director, DOT Line Space Secretary, INCFAC,

A total of 65 talented artists will take part in this unique festival, out of which 20 of them will be participating from Silchar, Assam. The 20 artists from Silchar who will take part in ‘Aizawl Art Festival,2018’ are Dr. Swapan Kumar Paul, Dr. Rajkumar Mazinder, Dr. Nirmal Kanti Roy, Dr. Ganesh Nandi, Samit Roy, Baharul Islam Laskar, Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha,  Arun Kumar Paul, Swapan Kumar Singha, Nilotpal Dhar Choudhury, Pulak Dutta, Santanu Acharjee, Swapan Kanti Kar, Uttam Ghosh, Ajoy Dey, Payel Goswami, Raja Kumar, Nippan Das, Saurav Rishi and Sourav Kumar Paul.
