2 tests COVID-19 +ve in Cachar on Sunday
April 4: On Sunday, 02 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 352 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive, whereas, another 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Sunday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,521. Further, a total of 11,467 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 38 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 16 active cases in Cachar district, out of which, 03 of them are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), whereas, the 13 others are in home isolation.
Further, the district health authorities appealed to the public to maintain COVID appropriate behaviour like use of face masks in public places, maintain social distancing, hand hygiene and coughing etiquette like covering of mouth and nose while coughing. Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed stated that by following these steps we can help prevent the break out of the second wave of COVID-19.
