2 photographers from Silchar finds place in State Photography Exhibition in Guwahati

Jan. 5: Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra Society (SSKS) initiated a photography exhibition of photographers of Assam as a part of the New Year Festival, 2021 along with a week long programme from 1 to 7 January. A total of 55 photographs have been displayed in the exhibition at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra and 31 talented photographers from different parts of Assam participated in it.

Two very talented photographers from Silchar could make their place within the top 31 wizards behind the lens whose pictured found a place in this prestigious exhibition. They are Partha Seal and Dibyendu Das. The theme of Partha Seal’s photography was based on the folk tradition of Barak Valley and depicted the traditional “Shiv- Parbati” in connection with Charak Puja. On the other hand, Dibyendu Das captured scenic beauty of Chatla region of Cachar district.

The photography exhibition was inaugurated by MLA Angoorlata Deka, Vice Chancellor of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalkashetra Society, Guwahati and Pritam Saikia – Commissioner and Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Dept. Cultural Affairs.

 Expressing his views, Sudarshan Thakur, Secretary of Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra said, “Photographs of some of the selected photo artists of the state have been collected and then printed and framed. This will definitely give a boost to the scenario and create a feel good conducive situation amidst of corona days.”
