2 new corona cases detected in Hailakandi; Over one lakh swab samples conducted

22 Oct: Two fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Thursday, taking the total tally to 3,300. Health authorities here disclosed that only two positive case have been detected under RT-PCR. Altogether 594 swab samples were taken on Thursday out of which 68 are under RT-PCR and 526 under RAT.

Altogether 1,915 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,215 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases is 65. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 12 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 37 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation.

Of the 28,442 RT-PCR samples taken, 26,002 have tested negative. Swab results of 87 persons are awaited.
1,00,179 swab samples have been conducted out of which 28,422 are under RT-PCR and 71,757 under RAT.
