2 more COVID-19 patients discharged, total 11 gets cured in Assam
April 18: Two more COVID-19 patients recovered in Assam. On Saturday morning, two coronavirus patients were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati. Both of them tested negative in their 4 successive tests. They are now being sent to 14 days home quarantine. This takes the tally of total number of cured patient in Assam to 11. Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Minister of State Pijush Hazarika greeted the recovered patients with gift of fruit baskets.
Taking to his twitter handle, state Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Pleased to share that I & MOS @Pijush_hazarika monitored discharge of 2 #COVID patients today – Md Arshad & Md Rizuwan – from MMCH after their 4 successive tests came as negative. They will now be sent for home quarantine. Total cured patients in #Assam – 11.”

Earlier, on 15 April 2 persons were discharged from Sonapur Civil Hospital . Three COVID-19 patients were released from Goalpara Civil Hospital on 16 April. On 17 April, 4 persons were discharged from Golaghat Civil Hospital. As of now, a total of 34 persons were tested coronavirus positive in Assam.
Out of the 34 cases, 11 patients have recovered and were discharged and 1 patient died. At present, 21 patients are undergoing treatment in Assam. One more corona positive patient has recovered from Cachar district and he is reported to be released from Silchar Medical college & Hospital (SMCH) on Saturday.
