181 tests +ve in Cachar on Thursday, district tally rises to 7,044

Active cases more than 2000 in Cachar

September 3: Cachar registered 181 new COVID-19 positive cases till 7 PM on Thursday. Out of the 181 fresh cases, 171 of them were detected in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 10 more positive cases were found in RT-PCR. The number of persons detected positive in rapid tests was also more on Thursday. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, Cachar recorded 144 positive cases. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Thursday evening. As some more slots of RT-PCR test results are awaited, so the numbers might increase at night.

With this, the district tally of novel coronavirus cases has now gone upto 7,044. As of now, 4,920 patients in Cachar got cured and were subsequently discharged from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and various Covid Care Centres within the district. At present, there are 2,100 active cases in the district. The death toll in Cachar due to COVID-19 has gone upto 24.

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test results, 10 persons were found COVID-19 positive, out of them 5 are from Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC). They area 18-year-old female, 45-year-old female, 12-year-old male, 5-year-old child (actually from Indira Colony, Karimganj) and a 54-year-old male.

A 61 years old male with SARI symptoms was also detected positive during the day. He hails from National Highway but at present is admitted at SMCH. A 38-year-old female from Salaganga who travelled by air from Uttar Pradesh was also found positive during the day. Two more air passengers were detected. One is a 34-year-old female from Janata Lane, Das Colony (air passenger from Hyderabad) and the other is a 20-year-old female from Masimpur Army (air passenger from Pune). The last one in this slot is a 24 years old female from near Durga Sankar Patshala, Ambicapatty. She exhibited ILI symptoms and was already within hotspot/ containment zone.
