1735 +ve cases detected in Assam on Thursday including 175 in Cachar
Active cases 25,480 in Assam
August 20: On Thursday, 1735 new positive cases were detected in Assam. With this, the state tally of novel coronavirus cases has gone upto 86,052, out of which, 25,480 are active cases. During the day, Cachar district registered 175 fresh cases of COVID-19. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1735 #COVID cases detected today out of 34376 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 5.04% Kamrup (M)- 389, Cachar- 175, Dibrugarh-116, Barpeta- 112.”
Further, another 8 persons died due to COVID-19 in Assam, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 221.
