17 deaths registered in Assam on Friday, toll rises to 625
Sept. 25: On Friday, Assam registered 17 more deaths due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state has now gone to 625. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 17 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The 17 deceased were identified as:
- Ram Hazarika (40), Budheswar Hazarika (65) & Dr Pranab Kr Dam (85) of Dibrugarh
- Abdul Hamid Borah (65) of Sivasagar
- Tapan Roy (42) & Dhirency Pegu (44) of Lakhimpur
- Saifuddin Ahmed (60) of Darrang
- Suresh Rahang (40), Kamala Bordoloi (86), Raju Das (45), Sankar Majumdar (81) & Jayanti Karmakar (60) of Kamrup Metro
- Ramesh Kumar Boraik (45), Sunita Ghosh (45) & Mukandar Sahiq (35) of Golaghat
- Renu Hazarika (69) of Jorhat
- Sudip Kr Saha (52) of Goalpara
