Assam Govt announces Sahityik pension to 23 persons including Jyotilal Choudhury from Silchar
Dec. 5: Jyotilal Choudhury, former Professor of Cachar College, Silchar has been nominated for the Sahityik Pension 2021-22 by Assam Government. This was announced by State Education Minster Dr Ranoj Pegu during a press conference held in Dhemaji on 5 December. A total of 23 eminent personalities will be provided the honour this year. They will be handed over the Sahityik Pension for the year 2021-22 on 7 December at the Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

The 23 persons nominated to receive the honour are – Jyotilal Choudhury, Dr. Anil Saikia, Kalinath Panging, Dileep Kumar Sharma, Makhanlal Baroi, Maniklal Mahato, Binod Bhagawati, Utpal Dutta, Nabin Baruah, Rajendranath Sharma, Dipankar Ranjan Kar, Tushar Kranti Saha, Tapan Das, Nilmohan Roy, Lakhyahira Das, Bishweswar Basumatary, Arobindo Ujeer, Mangalsingh Bay, Baneshwar Basumatary, Dr. Mangalsingh Hazoway, Ranju Hazarika alias Kumud Chandra Hazarika, Nabilmalla Bodo, and Lakhikanta Das
