148 tests +ve in Cachar on Saturday, district tally rises to 3905

August 15: On Saturday, 148 more persons were detected as novel coronavirus positive in Cachar district. Out of 148 positive cases during the day, 128 were detected positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) whereas, 20 persons were found positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the district tally of positive cases so far has gone upto 3905. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Saturday night.

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test results, 13 persons were detected COVID-19 positive. Out of them, 5 persons have travel history. They are a 31-year-old male from Chanpur Pt-2 (Air passenger from Bangalore), 25 years male from Udharbond (Travelled from Guwahati), 39-year-old male from 147 BN Batallion CRPF Kashipur (Travelled from Gujarat), 29 years old male & 22 years old male, both from TATA Tower Company, Silchar (Travelled from Bongaigaon & Barpeta).

Apart from them 5 more persons were detected positive under Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). They are a 35-year-old male from Fatak Bazar, Kalibari Road, 25 years old female also from Kalibari Road Silchar, 49 years old female from Radhamadhab Road, 27-year-old male from Malugram and 30 years male from Railway Office, Silchar. Further, a 40-year-old male from Bilpar who exhibited Influenza Like Illness symptoms was also detected positive. Apart from that, a 22 years old pregnant woman in near labour from Old Lakjipur Road, Madhurband was found positive. The last in this list is a 24-year-old jawan from 01 Bn BSF, Dholcherra who was infected after he came in direct contact with a high risk lab confirmed case.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test 5 persons were found positive. Among them is a 27-year-old doctor from Rangirkhari. The four others are 40-year-old male from Kaptanpur 13, 55-year-old female from Vivekananda Road, 38 years old male from Kajidohor Pt-1and 23 years old female from Silchar Sadar Thana. However, their source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF. However, the details of other slots was not declared till the filing of this report.
