13 from Assam including 3 from Cachar to get ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’
Jan. 25: On the occasion of the Republic Day, 2021, a total of 946 Police personnel were selected for awarding Gallantry Medals and service Medals. In the Gallantry Medal category, President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) will be conferred upon 2 police personnel, whereas 205 persons will be honoured with Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG). In the Service Medal category, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) will be awarded to 89 personnel and 690 of them will be adorned with Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM).
Pleased to inform that three of our personnel have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the Govt of India on the occasion of Republic Day 2021.

Out of them, 1 police officer from Assam has been selected for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. She is Violet Baruah, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (BTAD), Kokhrajhar. Further, 13 police personnel from Assam including three from Cachar will be conferred the ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ award.
The three policemen from Cachar to receive the ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ award are Sub-Inspector (UB) Imam Uddin Choudhury DSB, Cachar DEF; Asstt. Sub-Inspector (UB) Niranjan Das, Cachar DEF and Naik (UB) Anwar Hussain Barbhuiyan, Cachar DEF.
